Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about therapy, our services, or how to get started? You're in the right place. Our FAQs cover what to expect in sessions, how online therapy works, and more — so you can feel confident and informed as you take the next step toward your mental wellness journey.
Consultation Availability
Curious about whether therapy is right for you? We offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs, answer questions, and help determine if therapy may be a good fit. You can request a consultation through our website, by emailing info@breakthruhealth.org, or by calling 954-317-9025.
Session Length
Therapy sessions typically last 45 to 60 minutes. On average, clients begin noticing meaningful progress after 8 to 10 sessions, though the number of sessions varies based on each individual’s goals and concerns.
For those beginning therapy, weekly sessions are often recommended to build consistency and momentum. As progress is made, you and your therapist may decide to transition to bi-weekly sessions. Once treatment goals have been met, some clients find that monthly check-ins are helpful for maintaining growth and continued support.
Your participation in therapy is entirely voluntary, and you may end treatment at any time. If you decide to discontinue therapy, it is recommended to discuss this decision with your therapist. A final session allows you to review your progress, reflect on your therapeutic experience, and bring a sense of closure to the work you’ve accomplished together.
Cancellation Policy
We kindly request that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Notice can be submitted via email or phone as soon as you become aware that you will be unable to attend your scheduled session.
If a cancellation is not received within the 24-hour period, a late cancellation or missed session fee, determined by your provider, will be applied.
We understand that emergencies—such as medical issues, accidents, or natural disasters—can occur unexpectedly. In such cases, please notify your provider as soon as possible to discuss the situation and avoid a missed session fee.
