What is EAP?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a workplace benefit that provides confidential support and resources to employees dealing with personal or work-related issues. Services often include short-term counseling, referrals, and assistance with mental health, substance use, family problems, legal concerns, and financial stress. The goal of an EAP is to improve employee well-being and job performance by offering timely, professional help.
How to Use EAP Benefits
If your employer offers the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) we may be able to offer therapy services to you at no cost. You can determine if your employer offers EAP benefits by referencing your employee benefits packet or through your HR department. Once you have determined that your employer does offer EAP benefits. You will need to obtain an authorization for services prior to your first appointment. You can obtain this authorization through the contact number provided in your benefits packet, HR, or your employer’s intranet. Once you obtain an authorization number from the EAP, you can now schedule an appointment. If you are unsure how to enter your EAP authorization, we can assist you with this process.

Is EAP Confidential?
​Yes, receiving therapy using EAP is safe and confidential. The information that you share in therapy is kept private between you and your therapist. What you share in therapy is not disclosed to your employer, or will affect your employment. Please note that while EAP is confidential, there are some exceptions which apply. These exceptions include if there are disclosed risks of harm to yourself or others. Additionally, if there is a court-order or subpoena for records, your provider would be legally obligated to disclose the requested information. Your provider will notify you if any exceptions to confidentiality would be required.
Can I Continue With Therapy After EAP Ends?
Yes, if you feel that you benefiting from therapy and would like to continue after your EAP benefits end. You can continue with your current provider. In order to do so, you would need to either use your insurance benefits or self-pay. We can assist you in confirming insurance benefits such as co-payments or deductibles.
